Joanne Desjardins

Joanne Desjardins has been an essential member of Verrill Dana LLP for more than 30 years, serving as a cornerstone of the Augusta office’s daily operations. Known for her reliability, attention to detail, and welcoming demeanor, Joanne has played a critical role in supporting numerous firm partners and attorneys throughout her tenure.

In her capacity as a legal secretary, Joanne provides wide-ranging administrative and logistical support. She currently assists the government affairs team with monthly billing, lobbyist registration and compliance reporting, the production and distribution of the weekly client Legislative Update, and the coordination of grassroots and political campaigns. Her organizational skills and deep institutional knowledge make her an invaluable resource for both colleagues and clients.

A recipient of Verrill Dana’s 2006 Staff Excellence Award, Joanne is recognized for her dedication and her ability to create a warm, professional environment. She takes pride in ensuring visiting attorneys and clients from “away” (as we say in Maine) feel right at home in the Augusta office.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys an active and family-oriented lifestyle. Engaged to Jeff Jones and the proud mother of two daughters, she loves spending time with her loved ones. Her hobbies include traveling, gardening, biking, camping, and a variety of other outdoor activities that let her make the most of Maine’s natural beauty!
